Meinl's Extreme Metal cymbals are very popular amongst drummers who prefer heavier types of music. Meinl realises that their cymbals will need to be able to endure quite a lot, so they added the Extreme Metal cymbals to the Classics Custom series - amongst which, this CC20EMR-B. It is a 20-inch ride cymbal with an enormous, 8-inch bell. That is the size of a splash cymbal!
Meinl Classics Custom CC20EMR-B
This cymbal was manufactured using laser-guided machinery to prepare it for a life of heavy playing, and repeated polishing gave it a brilliant, shiny finish. Its surface was also hammered quite extensively to give its sound a trashy edge. Overall, the tonal results are excellent. The impressive bell has a loud, cutting sound, and the cymbal's ping is glassy and high-pitched, ensuring this ride is excellent for some quick sticking. Don't be afraid to really lay into this CC20EMR-B ride - it can handle it.

Inderdaad een zeer penetrerende sound, de ping hoor je duidelijk door een metalband heen gaan, echter wat ik jammer vond was dat er bij het riden een zeer hoorbare wash ontstaat. Die ride gaat ongelooflijk zingen en dat hoorde ik tijdens live optreden. Vind ik zelf niet mooi. Ik zou zeggen, kijk even wat Youtube testfilmpjes van deze ride, die geven een realistisch geluidsbeeld.
De bell is groot, maar ik ken kleinere bells die veel vetter klinken / mooier pingen.
Al met al een prima ride voor de prijs.
